box. Modify the settings as desired. You can also select a different OCR
profile or insert a new one. Click Close to save the settings and close the
OCR Profile Settings dialog box.
Note By default, an OCR profile named Default is used. If you have several
zones for the same Zone Locator and these zones need different OCR
settings, than you must create at least one new OCR profile that contains
different settings.
4 To perform a recognition test, click Test on the Zone Settings dialog box.
Alternatively, you can test a zone within the Zone Locator Properties dialog
box. To do this, open the Zone Locator Properties dialog box, select the
Zones tab, and click Test. The recognition value and confidence are shown
on the Test Results tab that is automatically displayed.
5 Map the zones that are inserted on the reference document to a subfield. The
Zone Locator’s subfield is assigned to an extraction field.
To map the zone to a subfield, open the Zone Locator Properties dialog box
and select the Subfields tab.
Note Normally, the zones that are inserted on the reference document are
automatically mapped and shown in the Subfield Definition list. If you
delete zones from the reference document or rename them, then those zones
are not automatically deleted from the list. If necessary, delete the subfield
from the list of Subfield Definitions and click Generate to map subfields to
those zones that are not mapped to a subfield. You can rename the mapped
subfield or change the Result column. Left-click the corresponding column to
change the name of the subfield or select All or Best from the drop-down list
in the Result column.
The Zone/Subfield Mapping list shows all zones and the corresponding
subfields.
6 Click Close to save the settings and return to the Extraction Design panel.
Now the locator can be assigned to a field.

1 Select Show Extraction Design from the Mode toolbar.
2 Select a Zone Locator or add a new Zone Locator.
